Let's get smart.

Ok, after like 4 days of solid chatting via facebook, maybe being in Australia isn't so bad after all. I mean I miss my friends and all, but I'm making new ones, and they're all different.

So if I made a table based on replies on facebook, it'd look something like..

Malaysia: Mostly say LOL except for the ones more fluent in English, and we laugh alot without talking about anything at all. We usually have one worded answers and we hardly ever talk back. We're not sarcastic and we usually ask 'How are you?' because we have nothing else to ask.

Australia: We give a hell of a lot of smart answers, we're sarcastic and we still laugh alot but we say more than LOL, and we don't say LOL at every sentence to just fill in the gap. We can go on for hours just being smart with each other and we hardly give one worded answers, we give sentences. And we're all fluent in English, so we can have some really hilarious conversations without going 'Huh...?'

I'm not discriminating here, I'm not even naming specific people or being mean to anyone. I'm just stating that maybe in Malaysia we need to up our smart-ness, give some smart answers, and watch the society crumble beneath us because we'll never move forward with one-worded answers.

I used to think I was pretty sarcastic when I was still in KL, but being here for almost 2 years has made me realise that maybe I'm not that sarcastic after all.

But being here has made me better at it.

So listen up people! Don't just say LOL when you're talking to your friends on msn, give some smart answers, be sarcastic, and maybe you'll find that you'll have longer conversations.

If the person you're talking to can understand you, that is.
